Handi-Riders offers a unique activity for children and adults with special needs: therapeutic horseback riding. They offer sessions throughout the year at their location, Wade Arena, near the intersection of Clark Road and Highway 70 just north of Oroville, CA, and have been offering service for 38 years.
In this interview, Grace Dwyer, from the Board of Directors, and Dana, the instructor and equine trainer, talk about the services they provide and the ongoing need for financial support. Donated items are also welcome, including feed, tack, helmets, and equine equipment. Their next scheduled fund raiser, sponsored by United Bikers of Northern
California, will be on May 14 at 2598 South 5th Avenue in Oroville,
including music, entertainment and food. Other upcoming events include Folkstock in Chico and the Durham Car Show.
