Nancy Brower from Butte County Historical Society

Nancy Brower presented the current status and the history of the Butte County Historical Society.  Their current location is at the intersection of Baldwin and Spencer Streets in Oroville.  They have open hours Fridays 9-12 am, and Saturdays 11 am to 3 pm.  Their archives are housed in an adjacent building, and are open Thursday and Friday from 9 am to noon.  Their website is www.buttecountyhistoricalsociety.org and the phone number is (530) 533-9418.  They also operate the Ehmann Home at 1480 Lincoln Street, open Saturdays 11am to 3pm, where tours are available (phone number 533-5316). The society solicits and collects items from the Butte County area. Memberships ($25.00), and donations are welcome.  People are encouraged to attend their  programs and fund raisers during the year. Members of the society receive monthly newsletters and quarterly pamphlets with in depth historical information and stories.
