First 5 Butte County Children and Families Commission

Yvonne Nenadal from First 5 explained that this commission provides funding for essential services for children, newborns through age 5, and pregnant mothers.  At age 5, a child's brain is fully developed, so providing proper support and guidance during these formative years is important.  Maternal mental wellness is also supported by First 5--perinatal maternal depression and anxiety are not rare.  Call 211 for help with this.  More information can be found at www.first5Butte.org and you may phone (530)538-7964.  "Parents are a child's first teacher".
